No point in dreaming about getting any support from dems, they will bring up DREAM act for illegals and will hold legals hostage until CIR.
Our best chance is to get support from the republican pro-legal immigration senators like - Cornyn, Kyl, Judd Greg etc..

I usually spend some time every day at my San Francisco Bay Area immigration law office making inquires on pending cases. It is a frustrating process because I rarely receive answers and when I do, they usually are not helpful.
United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") has recently released guidance on how to make inquiries at their Service Centers (http://www.californiaimmigrationlawyerblog.com/USCIS%20update.pdf). They provide a three step process. The first step is to call their National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. If the issue is not resolved in 30 days, you proceed on to the next step which is to email the USCIS Service Center where your case is pending. The email addresses are:
California Service Center csc-ncsc-followup@dhs.gov Vermont Service Center vsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov Nebraska Service Center ncscfollowup.nsc@dhs.gov Texas Service Center tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov (tsc.ncsfollowup@dhs.gov)

Finterpring while H1 stamping is different. You need to get finterpring again when you apply for I485. They took my fingerprinting when I went for H1 stamping(though it was couple of years ago), but gave finger printing again after applying for 485.
So better you contact USCIS. Search in IV forums, I read sometime back that there are some people who didnt get fingerprinting notice.

My company filed my 7th year H1 extension and my wife's H4 petition at the same time in Dec 2006. USCIS online case status shows received and in process for both H1 and H4.
Recently, we upgraded to premium processing. However, only the H1 case status now shows as being done under premium processing. Does that mean that only my H1 will be premium processed and not H4 even though they both were filed together. Is this normal. I am hoping both H1 and H4 will be premium processed. I know that USCIS adjudicates H4 also in premium processing for such cases as a courtesy. Just wanted to know if anyone has been under similar situation before and got only their H1 approved in premium and not H4....The whole purpose of me upgrading to PP was to get H4 approved before the H1 quota begins in April as our H1/H4 were expiring this summer and my wife's employer is filing a H1 COS petition for her in PP under the 2008 H1 quota....Didn't want to take any chance of her H1 COS getting approved without a I-94 because of her current H4 expiring in summer.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was reading that getting approved I129 means you are cap exempt for next 6 years. As the petition for visa was filed in 2007, so according to this cap exemption should be for next 6 years i.e. 2013. Would be really nice if you can clarify this.

I agree that an error in name order on an EAD is not likely to cause any major problems. However, You can apply for a replacement card by filing another I-765. If the error on the EAD is due to a USCIS mistake, no fee is required. However, if you caused the error by providing incorrect information, then you will have to pay the full $340 filing fee again.

Hi,
I am wondering if I can sent both my and mywifes EAD applications in one envelope to USCIS or do I have to send them separately. I am not asking to save money on postal costs , as everyone knows we all spent 1000's of dollars in this GC process. I am only asking so that our(my and mywife) applications are processed together?

I am trying to get a green card for the US. My parents are from east asia and I was born in Canada. I went to University in Maryland from 1992-96 and obtained my dental license. I am licensed in the US and intend to purchase a dental office soon. I will still be keeping my dental office in Canada for at least 1 year once I am able to work in the US. I heard about a investment visa however I am not investing more than $400k but it will employ at least 4 US nationals(ctizens). Can I still use the investment visa or can I get a visa for opening a secondary dental office in the US and still keep my existing office in Canada until I qualify for a green card.
